A drop-in workshop in which families made their own Illuminated letters inspired by the historic Illuminated Manuscripts on display at the British Library.
I designed templates drawn directly from the collection which could be used as a starting point for modern designs. We explored the ideas behind illuminated texts, what they meant to those who read and made them, and what our versions meant to us.
Families were encouraged to visit the 'Treasures' Gallery after the workshop to discover more about the collection and give their artwork context.
